Books I've read lately:
For Lent I decided to give up social media during the day when I'm at home, which has left me with lots of time to read books like I used to! In the past couple months here are a few I have read that I thought were really good:
-The Shack by William Young
-Before I Go To Sleep by S.J. Watson
-Baby Proof by Emily Griffin
-Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
-The Journey by Billy Graham
-And The Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini
-Second Honeymoon by James Patterson and Howard Roughan
Have YOU read any good books lately?
Food I'm eating lately:
So when I first tried Quest bars, I was not into them. It must've just been the flavors I had chosen, but I just didn't see what all the rage was about! Until... I tried cookies and cream and then chocolate chip cookie dough! Now I finally see what I've been missing all this time! I don't eat them often, but they are great for something when you're on the go or just craving something sweet.
I've also been obsessed with protein sludge/pudding lately! I have a few yummy combinations I've come up with. One of favorites is vanilla Phase8 with a tablespoon of butterscotch pudding and PB2, or chocolate peanut butter Phase8 with peanut butter. I blend them with almond milk then let them sit in the fridge for a couple of hours to thicken up so that you can eat it with a spoon, which just somehow makes it taste so much better! I like mine more soupy, but you can use less milk for more of a pudding.
Phase8 is the perfect consistency for a sludge. You can also freeze it to make a yummy protein ice cream, which I'll definitely start doing when summer comes. I know some people avoid protein powders, but I love them just for the simple fact that it satisfies my sweet tooth!

Songs I'm singing lately:
Miranda Lambert, "Automatic"
David Nail, "Whatever She's Got"
Francesca Battistelli, "Write Your Story"
What's your favorite song right now?
Why I'm happy lately:
Well, there are so many reasons, but mostly because Spring is FINALLY here!!! We had a gorgeous day yesterday and our first time in the hammock of the season! I have waited for so loooonggg for this! :)

Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend!
I love your lately posts :D all so great, sweetie! I haven't read anything but my texts books in a while! I really want to read Sexy By Nature though! And Eat The Yolks! All of those kinds of books really interest me. I am really happy lately because the sun is shining, too :) And I am off to Barbados in 14 days :)
ReplyDeleteI have done a very similar thing for Lent. No texting and very limited e-mail to certain times of day and not on the phone. It actually feels freeing. Just like you, I have learned to love to read and the peace it seems to bring me. I read "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman and another one in the Peaceful Warrior series - highly recommended. I have also read 2 books by Dan John, "Never Let Go" and "Mass Made Simple". Added more Scripture reading, too. Happy Palm Sunday and a Blessed Easter to you.
ReplyDeleteI definitely find that I am much more productive! I will have to check out those books. Thank you!
