Hey guys! Happy Friday!
So I've really been enjoying this week off from the gym. I've walked a few times, but that's really about it! I honestly haven't missed the gym for a second. But I am looking forward to being back next week. ;)
I've used the hour I would usually be at the gym to read the Bible and pray. I've been following PrayFit.org 's devotionals for the Bible readings, as well as the January scripture writing plan that I posted previously. Throughout the week I read through Hebrews, Colossians, and Nehemiah 1-6.
I liked this so much that it may just be a yearly tradition! I encourage you guys to do the same-maybe try it next week! Just like Jimmy Pena says, 10 days of no training will do far more good for our souls than harm to our bodies. And that's so true!
I think it just sets the tone for the whole year and keeps our priorities in check. It shows that we choose to put God first, not our fitness goals. It sets our thoughts on God, letting Him speak to us and mold us, without any other distractions. It's saying, "God-I'm giving this year to you. I want you to lead me and guide me. I want to honor YOU in all that I do, first and foremost." Because really, our purpose in life above all else is loving God and living out His will. Our fitness goals, our physiques-they pale in comparison to that.
So anywayssss, I'm super excited for cheeseburgers tonight! With the holidays the past couple weeks, we haven't been able to have them. Tomorrow we're planning on getting DONUTS after church, so yeah...I'm pretty excited about that, too!
Well, onto my Friday faves!
So I used my squat sponge for the first time last weekend, and I really like it! If I go super heavy on hip thrusts, I will probably need a little more padding, but this was way better than having to go hunt down some mats to fold up and put between the bar.
Lately I've been just loving having a fire in the fireplace on cold nights. Yes, this pic is from last week. And yes, I did take down my trees since then, although reluctantly. It's always so sad. I mean, look at it, it's so pretty!

This week I made my banana chocolate chip muffins, and they just turned out PERFECT. I can't even believe how good these are. You'd never think they were healthy with NO added sugar(well, besides the chocolate chips!)
I picked up some new makeup products the other day that I really like-Wet N Wild's Silent Treatment Palette, NYC's bronzing powder, and Elf's studio powder brush. The eyeshadow is so pretty-perfect for a date night look. I think I'll use it for our Valentine's date. ;)
I think it's so pretty the way Julie does it in this video. And yes, I'm still obsessively watching makeup tutorials. I have problems. And too much time on my hands.
Lastly, I'll leave you with a few of my favorite articles I came across this week:
