It's Friday, oh yeah! :)
Today's supposed to be my CrossFit day, but because I am SUPER sore from my leg workout Wednesday, I don't know if it's gonna happen! We'll see as the day goes on...
After taking a week off last week and then switching up my leg workout-WOW- I have not been this sore in my quads in a LONG time!! I love it. These legs are gonna GROW, I tell you!
This has definitely been my problem for the last couple days, ha!
Here's what I did:
1)Squat jumps: 8-7-6-5
2)Squats: 155x4/165x4/165x4/155x6
3)Barbell glute bridges: 135x8/155x8/165x8/165x8
4)Bulgarian split squats: 3 sets of 8 w/40lb DB held at chest(these suck!!)
5)Cable RDL(3x12) superset with Smith machine calf raises(4x20)
+1 set of leg curls x20 on the leg curl machine
6)Ab wheel rollouts
-Finished up with 5 minutes of jumping rope to burn out my calves-
So the past few days here in Kentucy have been beautiful! 70s and sunny. But.... it's not gonna last. This weekend is only supposed to get up to the mid-fifties! Really??? Gosh, I miss summer already! I'm not ready for these cooler temperatures all. But I am excited about Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up, woohoo! The best time of the year! :)
So this weekend's treat meal is up for debate. I've been wanting a pumpkin cheesecake mixer from Culver's....but....then my husband showed me this:
Krispy Kreme has a pumpkin donut!!!??? How in the world did I not know about this before?! Donuts+pumpkin=2 of my very favorite things combined! I definitely foresee this being in my future sometime very soon. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!! :)

Have a great weekend everyone!!!
Love the potty pic. I feel your pain. Worked legs on Tuesday and it still hurts to sit down there. :) Enjoy your donuts!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'm sure I will-can't wait!
DeleteGreat workout! My legs always take a good three days to recover. So annoying! Happy weekend :)
ReplyDeleteI hate that they take so long to recover, but love that they are sore, which I always equate to growing. ;) Hopefully they'll be better by tomorrow so I can get some conditioning in!
DeleteI've never had pumpkin anything but I think that pumpkin donuts may just be the answer. I can just imagine how amazing they must be.
ReplyDeleteOH, they are so good!! :) But I love pumpkin stuff!
DeleteGirl, if you can wait for the New Albany Harvest Homecoming donuts, DO IT. The line is horrendous (they fry them up right there), but the donuts are absolute perfection.
ReplyDeleteOh, your leg workout looks like a killer! :)
Oh goodness, I haven't even heard of that! When is it? I had some at Huber's over the weekend...but I am always willing to try more! ;)
DeleteTough workout! Do you do the squat jumps first to get them warmed up? On the split squats have you ever used a barbell on your back? That is how i usually do those- and yes, they hard hard!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me to do the glute bridges, I haven't done this in a long time!
I usually do my power/explosive movements at the beginning of my workout. I've read that it helps with priming the CNS before your main strength movement, so yes, I guess it is a warmup for my squats! I usually switch up where I hold the weight for split squats-sometimes a barbell, sometimes a dumbbell at my chest, and sometimes holding dumbbells in each hand. I'm loving the glute bridges right now-I really hope they're making my booty grow! ;)
