Summer Fun

This past weekend was long and fun-filled! Friday my husband and I went to a Louisville Bats game. My favorite part was eating a hot dog a nachos!(It was allowed-my "treat" for the week! ). They were both sooo yummy! We had a heat advisory that day-heat index was around 100 degrees! It was HOT and very humid. But we gotta get used to it-summers here are like that! Saturday my family had a cookout/graduation party for 2 of my cousins. Gotta love hotdogs and potato salad! It was another hot and humid day! But we had lots of fun playing volley ball and cornhole! I love family cookouts! Sunday we didn't go to church, although I wish we had! (We rarely skip church, but we were exhausted!) So we spent the day cleaning and working on Matt's homework, then did some grocery shopping. Now it's boring ol' Monday again.... I had to get up early to train some clients, so I think I'm going to take me a nap...I am sleeeeepy! Then I gotta go back to work this evenin

Stupidest Things in the Gym

Since I work at a gym, I see people doing the dumbest things. Sometimes it makes me laugh, and sometimes I just shake my head...but I guess some people just really don't know what they're doing, so I can't really blame them! I hate the guys that walk around with weight belts on for EVERY exercise-that is absolutely not needed. Or the ones that try to lift super heavy, but are only doing partial reps with HORRIBLE form. Or the women who never lift more than 5 pounds! But the thing I absolutely cannot stand in the gym are the women who do only two exercises-the inner and outer thigh machine, and some type of abdominal machine. This just drives me CRAZY. Those are pretty much the 2 most pointless exercises to do. Most women do those exercises because those are the areas they want to shrink or "tone". But actually, those exercises are not doing that at all! The inner and outer thigh machine is NOT going to give you smaller thighs, and you're not burning many cal

Need A JOB!

So it's Monday.... I really hate Mondays -who doesn't??? But it's not because it's the start of the work week, because I don't have a full time job...and my job is not even really like a job to me! But I hate Mondays because they are SUPER boring. Matt has school in the mornings, then works 2-10 on Mondays. :( So I'm here all alone ALL day with nothing to do! I had a couple of clients to train this morning, then I have one more this evening. I'm about to take a nap...guess that will pass some time. Already went to pick up a few things at the grocery...then I'll probably read for a few hours....maybe find something to clean(I need to dust-ugh)...then take Asher for a walk when it gets a little cooler...then I guess watch some TV and wait for Matt to get home! That's why I need another job because I get depressed when I'm here all day by myself sometimes! Well, it's usually just a Monday thing. I don't really have close friends anymore to

I Hate Vegetables!

Okay, so I talk about how I eat healthy, BUT there is one slight problem with that- I hate vegetables! I always tell my clients that a healthy diet should ALWAYS include lots of veggies....but I can't seem to follow my own advice! :( I do eat healthy-I stay away from sugar and refined carbs and saturated fat and eat whole wheat products, low fat dairy and lots of fruits...but I never ever eat my vegetables. I don't know why, but they are just disgusting to me! BUT since I am always trying to be healthier and find ways to eat better, I am going to start trying really hard to eat at least ONE vegetable a day! Even if I have to force it down my throat! We're supposed to have about 4 servings a day, actually, but I don't know if that will ever happen.... But we'll see how it goes. I just want to be as healthy as I can be! So even me, the personal trainer, the one who everyone thinks eats so perfect, has problems with her diet! I'm a normal person like everyone

Watermelon

I love watermelon. Yum! I just titled this blog that because I'm eating watermelon right now! NOthing tastes more like summer.... Well, this weekend we went to Kart Kountry to play some mini golf. I was winning up until the last hole, and then I blew it! So my husband beat me AGAIN! I get so mad when I lose to him. But that's most of the time! :( Next week we might go back to ride some go karts!

Healthy Eating

"Nothing tastes better than skinny feels." -Steven Tyler I love that quote! If taken in a healthy way, it's a great quote to live by, I think! I grew up eating really BAD food, as most people do, and had NO idea what I was doing to my body. Through highschool and my first year of high school all I ate was junk food -candy, sodas, chips, fast food....I had NO concept of eating healthy whatsoever. I remember at one point in high school, when I really wanted 6 pack abs, I decided to start "eating better", and I wrote down everything I ate in a notebook. Well, my idea of eating better was just eating less calories! I still ate the same junk food, but I wasn't taking in very many calories at all. I can remember one of my days having a hotdog, some peanut m&ms and something else?....and I only took in 900 calories! Now that just seems crazy to me. That's what I thought would help me get a 6 pack! I had no idea how unhealthy that was! Anything under 120

Don't know where this came from, but I like it!

A man's health can be judged by which he takes two at a time - pills or stairs.

Summer

I love summer. After months of waiting, it is finally here, and I don't have to complain about the cold!!! Today is HOT. It's about 90 degrees. It'll get much hotter than this, though, so I gotta get used to it. But I'm not complaining-I'd much rather have this than 20 degrees! I layed out again today, just like I do every day that's sunny. Yeah,I know, I have a lot of free time on my hands! I went to the library today and checked out 6 books! I'm going to try to read them all in 2 weeks. I read so many books that now when I go to the library I can't remember which books I have and haven't read. I've loved reading since I first learned how. Yup, I'm a bookworm! Oh my gosh, I want to go a vacation sooooooooooo bad...I can't even think about it. But now with our income not being near what it used to be, it's not going to happen. :( But we're going to New York for my brother-in-law's wedding in July, so that's going to be o
