Life Lately

I thought it was time to update you guys about how things have been lately.

Matt finally decided to move forward with the radiation treatment, so we started that last week. He'll have 5 total treatments, 2 which were completed last week, and three more this week. We were told that the treatments would not make him better, but could delay further decline. At this point, I just hope it's not too late to give him some sort of quality life. If he's just so tired all the time, is that really living? But I know he wants to keep fighting and do everything he can to live.

His brother flew in from New York for a few days last weekend, so that was nice.

We had a few beautiful days the last couple of weeks, so I finally got some much needed hammock time! I've waited so long for this. I hope Spring is finally here to stay! We even got Matt out for a ride in the Jeep one day. We weren't sure if we were going to be able to get him in because it's so high, but we did it! That…

Eating Healthy On The Go

Things have been a lot busier for me lately, with Matt's doctor's appointments and me being his caretaker and all, but I haven't used that as an excuse not to eat well. Even during his two week stay at the rehab hospital, I was able to stay on track with my eating.

I think the problem that many women can get into on busy days is not only making unhealthy choices, but not eating ENOUGH throughout the day...and then just completely going crazy at night and eating everything in sight. Sound familiar?

Well, there is NO reason why you can't get in some decent healthy meals and snacks throughout the day, even when you have to eat on the run!  It may take a little more thought and planning ahead, but you absolutely can stay on track even on those busy, on-the-go days. Just make sure to stay stocked up on portable, healthy foods, and you'll be set.

Here are some of my favorite healthy, convenience foods:
-Tuna packets (ranch is my fave!)
-Protein bars(Quest, Mission1, Nitro…

Easter 2018

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!
 I had my family come to our house for dinner and an Easter egg hunt. It wasn't the prettiest of days(I'm so over the cold weather!!!), but we still had a good time. It seems like I haven't seen Celeste in forever! I went a little photo crazy, as always. I'm just glad she will let me take pictures of her now! 





As always, I enjoyed some good food with no guilt, as I do every holiday. We had bbq pulled chicken, green beans, and mac and cheese. It was delish! And I made my Reese's brownie "nests". I had a few of these as well. They are amazing!

Are You Neglecting Your Spiritual Fitness?

So, it's Sunday... aka "meal prep day" for us in the fitness world, the day we cook and prep our food and meals, so that we can easily stay on track with our nutrition throughout the week. We meticulously figure out our calories and macros and then plan out our workouts for the week, down to the exact number of sets and reps for every exercise.

These are all great habits that reveal that health and fitness is a priority in our lives. It's something that's important to us; therefore, we take the time to do the things that will cause us to be successful in our fitness endeavors-whether that's to gain muscle, lose weight, get stronger, or just be healthy.

And while there's nothing wrong with having healthy habits and focusing on our nutrition and workouts, as I talk about often, it can easily turn into an unhealthy obsession that can distract us from our real purpose in life.
