August Currently

You guuuyyyys! Can you believe that August is more than half way over??!! I seriously don't know where the Summer went. Can we just rewind back to May, please?

Well, anyways...onto my August "Currently"!

Currently I'm ....

Loving
Wet 'N Wild's Comfort Zone eyeshadow palette.! I know I've mentioned it in a previous post, but I recently got back to using it more. I love that there are SO many different looks you can do with just this one palette.

Aren't those sooo pretty? I used it last night, and it looked awesome, if I do say so myself.

Eating-
I just bought the new Salted Caramel English muffins for my post workout meal, and I was a little disappointed because they weren't as good as I expected them to be! I mean, they weren't bad, but just not my favorite flavor. I top them with sugar free syrup and banana since I need those CARBS post workout!
I also recently tried the Vanilla Chex. Y'all know I love my post workout cereal! I like it, but I prefer the cinnamon Chex over the vanilla. Right now nothing beats my Honey Bunches of Oats cinnamon clusters or Froot Loops with marshmallows!

Doing-
I'm still enjoying doing the Scripture writing plans that I started last Fall. I found a bunch more on Pinterest and saved them all to a board on my page. I like these from Rachel Wojo that are topical.

Feeling-
Very sad that Summer is almost over. Look, I love Fall y'all, but winter comes after it, and I ain't excited about that. I'm actually trying not to think about it... because it's still months away! I will, however, be very happy when the dang humidity goes away, though. This has pretty much summed up the Summer here in Kentucky:

Wearing-
I'm totally not a trendy person whatsoever, but I found this romper at Marshall's, tried it on, and loved it! It's super comfy and super cute!

Watching -
The Olympics, of course! I mostly love watching gymnastics and the sprints. Gymnast's and sprinter's bodies are sick. I totally want their legs and glutes!

Reading-
My goal is to read one Christian non-fiction book per month. Right now I'm reading Tramp For The Lord by Corrie Ten Boom. I thoroughly enjoyed The Hiding Place, so I'm sure this one will be great as well. She has an amazing story.

Thinking about-
How fun it was to meet a longtime online friend in real life! Of course, we had to get a workout in together and get a gym selfie. I mean, that's what  you do, right? I was thinking how much fun it would be to get together like this with a group of my online blogger/Facebook/IG friends some day!

Looking forward to-
My sleepover with Celeste! She has never stayed overnight at my house, but the past few times she's been here she has left in tears because she wants to stay! So I'm going to plan a day for her to stay the night, and I'm super excited! We can swim in the pool, make cookies, play Hide And Seek, color, watch Disney movies, and read bedtime stories! I definitely think I'm more excited than she is!

Listening to-
Love & The Outcome, The God I Know. Absolutely loving this song right now! Puts me in a great mood!

"And Then I Threw My Hands Up
Worries Down
I Remember When He Showed Me How
To Break Up With My Doubt
Once I was lost but now I'm found
No Strings Attached When He Saved My Soul
I Want You To Know The God I Know
Oh, You Gotta Know
Oh, The God I Know"

Putting My Heart Out There

Hey guys. Here's where we're at right now: Matt finished his radiation treatments last week. Did they help? I don't know. He's sleeping a lot more. Having trouble chewing and swallowing. Not eating much. Not talking much, at least not in full sentences. It's just been a slow, steady decline for the last few months. I think it was really too late for radiation....But who knows, maybe it is delaying things. We went in last Tuesday for his infusion and talked with his neuro-oncologist about everything that we've been seeing with Matt, and he decided that we're at the point now where we should discontinue treatments...I feel like it's the right decision, even though it breaks my heart knowing that there is nothing else we can do. But I feel like we've done everything. All the supplements, the diet, the chemo, the radiation... Matt has fought hard. He never gave up hope. He kept the faith. He never complained through any of this. Not once did I hea
People always said That time would heal the pain But how can that be When mine still remains? The tears still fall At just the thought of you So I know that what they say Just can't be true As the years go by I miss you so much still  No matter how much time passes I know I always will How are you not here To ease my hurting heart? Never could I have imagined We would ever be apart My world has been shattered A piece of me is gone And all I can do is pray For strength to live on I know that one day soon I will see you again I just have to try to suffer through And make it until then

One Year...

One year ago today... the day it all changed. It was a Tuesday. I got the call from Matt around 3:00. I remember I was sitting at the computer at home. Matt told me that he was at the hospital, and that Bob Scott, his boss, had driven him there. Then he said those 4 words I never expected to hear: “The tumor came back.”  My heart stopped. Matt had gone in that morning for an MRI, as he has done numerous times in the past 10 years. He was now at the point where he had an MRI just yearly now, and that one was done in February, which showed that everything was fine. There was no sign of tumor growth, which had been the case for the last 10 years, praise God. But because Matt had been having some seizure activity for the last few months, they suggested he go in for another MRI in July. We then decided we should move up the appointment, because he had been having a headache every day for the past week. Good thing we did.... After I hung up with Matt,  I immediately broke down. I
