Happy Monday!
The past few days here in Kentucky have been amaaaazzingg!! I'm so sad that it's going to be so much colder this week, but hey, I mean it is October and it has to come eventually.
I'm going to miss my hammock time, though. I spent a lot of time outside this past week, soaking up as much of the great weather as I could!
So here's an update on Matt:
He's on week three of his second 6 week cycle of chemo. He's been doing pretty well with it, but this past week his seizures came back. These are not full out seizures like many people think of, but something called partial seizures, or focal seizures. They last just seconds usually, and the person stays aware the whole time.
When he was having them before the surgery, he would get a strange feeling and a weird smell, like burnt plastic, which I read is common. Since the surgery he hasn't been having them until this past week. Now they are a little different-he gets a tingling in his leg and excessive saliva buildup. He did throw up this past Friday. We don't know if that's from chemo, or if it's part of the seizures. He called his neurologist who upped his seizure meds and also moved up his MRI, which scheduled for this Friday now.
I've also noticed that his parkinson's symptoms have gotten worse, most noticeably the slow movement and excessive saliva. His balance seems to be getting worse as well, which I'm not sure if that relates to the parkinsonism or not. It's scary, because the week before we found out his tumor had come back he was having balance issues, among other things. His oncologist said that the tumor shouldn't be growing when he's being treated...but you just can't help but worry sometimes. It's a scary and stressful thing living from MRI to MRI at this point.
He is taking a lot of different supplements in addition to following the keto diet. He's taking tumeric, boswellic acid, alpha lipoic acid, DHA, CBD oil, and hydroxy citrate. I'm also diffusing frankincense oil and applying it to his skin topically.
Still just taking things one day at a time, because that's really all we can do.

Matt had a wrestling show Sunday, so I decided to treat myself to Culver's, since we don't really go to places like that now that he can't eat carbs. It was sooo good! Worth every calorie.
