Happy New Year!! I can't believe the year has come to an end.
It's a beautiful day here-I just walked my dog in a T-shirt and shorts, and it felt amazing out! And the sun is even out, which is a rare sight to see these days.
Soooo I don't have any big plans for New Year's Eve tonight, never do. I'll be lucky if I can even stay up until midnight! Tomorrow we all get together at my grandma's for dinner. And after a week of perfect eating and low carbs, I am so ready for some good food!
I'm totally skipping the CrossFit workout today! It involves running 2 miles, and something like 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats I think. No, thank you! I think I'm going to start taking 2 days of rest each week from now on anyway, instead of just one.
I'm excited for tomorrow because my husband is going to go to the gym where I work with me and help me practice some things-mostly muscle ups and kipping pullups. I'm really hoping to be able to get a muscle up soon! I know I'm close!
So is anyone making any New Year's resolutions? Not me! I've always thought it was dumb, but that's just me!

Frustrated
For some reason I'm feeling down tonight, and frustrated...
I go through these phases when I start doubt myself...and I get frustrated that I have clients that I've had for over a year who I still just can't get to eat right. I get mad at myself that I can't get them to want to change. I feel like I've failed. I start to think that maybe I'm doing something wrong or that I'm just not motivating them enough or something, I dunno!
I just don't know what else I can do. I KNOW how hard it is to eat healthy. But I give them the tools-I give them strategies, I give them diet plans...but sometimes it just doesn't seem to work.
I push them hard in the gym, but when they're not eating right they'll never truly see the results of all their hard work. I could push them so hard that they pass out or puke, but if they're not putting in the work OUTSIDE of the gym,too....their results will be minimal. I want them to get awesome results and to know how good they would feel when the fat starts coming off!
It's just frustrating. I know I can't give people motivation-they have to have it within themselves. I just get tired of people complaining about how they look, but not listening to my advice about how to change it!
And I never thought I was an emotional eater...but right now I just want to have a big huge bowl of cereal or some ice cream or chocolate....but I'll fight the urge. ;)

WOD
Yesterday's WOD was a max split jerk for 1 rep, 7 sets. I LOVE strength workouts! (As most people do). It was my first time ever doing split jerks. So I started with 100 lbs and worked up to my final set with 135lbs.

I think I have come to the conclusion that I just want to be STRONG and not focus so much on gaining muscle. I'm pretty satisfied with how I look right now, and Ive actually had a few people tell me that my arms look bigger! :)
Hopefully I WILL gain muscle doing CrossFit, but it's not going to be the only thing I'm concerned with, like it was when I was doing bodybuilding workouts. Yeah, I would LOVE for my legs and butt to get bigger...but I may just have to accept that it's not gonna happen!
Today's workout was: 7 rounds for time of 135lb front squat for 3 reps and 7 L-pullups. I did 5 rounds in about 10 minutes using 130 lbs for the squat.
So...I'm low carbin' it this week to make up for all the bad food I ate over the weekend! I'm soo sick of cookies and potato salad!!!!!!!! UGH. And this weekend we have another dinner at my grandma's on New Year's day! but by then I'll probably be ready for more bad food. hehe. ;) Ahhh...oh well.
That's all for now!

Picture Highlights of 2010
I can't believe the year is almost over! 2010 was a great year, and I'm excited for what 2011 has to bring! Here are a few highlights of the year:
My little brother graduated from highschool
Road trip to Myrtle Beach with my best friend. I had so much fun!
My little brother graduated from highschool
Christmas Eve and CrossFit
Okay, so yesterday was the first time in 2 months that I strayed from the CrossFit workout and did a "bodybuilding" style workout! After I did it, I was so mad at myself. I feel like I cheated on CrossFit! And I didn't even enjoy the workout.
So today I am back on track with CrossFit, and here's what my workout is going to be:
5 rounds for time, each exercise using 105lbs:
12 deadlifts
9 hang power cleans
6 push jerks
Should be a fun one, but I'm not sure if I'll do all 5 rounds or not. We'll see!
So since I skipped yesterday's CrossFit workout, I'm going to do it tomorrow. It's one that I can do at home, which is good because the gyms are closed! It's going to be Tabata squats, and then I'll probably do some jump rope in place of the one mile run. I just want to get a workout in on Christmas day with all the food I KNOW I will be eating.
Tonight is Christmas at my mom's house. I've already made a big batch of chocolate chip cookies to take over, and later today I plan on making sugar cookies, too! I love baking! :)

Oh-and it looks like we'll be having a white Christmas this year! Yay! :) Tonight it's supposed to start snowing, and tomorrow we should have 2-4 inches! (I'm hoping for 4!)
Merry Christmas!!

Just Some Thoughts
I'm sorry, but if you want to LOOK a certain way, you have to EAT a certain way. You can't eat tons of carbs if you want to really see your abs pop. You can't have numerous treats throughout the weak if you want to have serious muscle defintion.
Now if you just want to be skinny and a little softer, that's fine-you can eat your carbs and have your treats whenever you want. I used to eat like that. If I wanted something and even if it wasn't my cheat meal, I would eat it! I was no where near as strict with my eating as I am now. I stayed away from junk food, but I pretty much ate whatever I wanted.
When I started cutting back on carbs and saw my stomach getting leaner, I liked it! That's the look I want, and if that means eating less carbs and lots of protein and vegetables, that's what I'll do!
It all depends on the look you're going for. I like seeing my abs! I probably won't eat like this forever, but for now it's just my life.

Catching Up
Just thought I'd write a bit since it's been a while since I last posted.

So Christmas is almost here. Yay! I'm so excited! And snow is in the forecast for Christmas day!!! :)
Well, my husband graduated from college last week! I am so happy for him that he finished college after starting more than 10 years ago. He took a few detours and had some setbacks along the way, but the important thing is that he finished! His parents and grandma flew in for his graduation, and we had a nice time with them over the weekend.
Also, I turned 26 on Sunday! I don't feel at ALL like I should be 26. 30 is creeping up on my WAY too fast!
Soo I ate REALLY bad over the weekend... I'm talking brownies, ice cream, pancakes, mac and cheese and more...but I'm eating extra extra good( = low carb) this week to make up for it. Friday and Saturday I will be eating bad again since I have 2 Christmas dinners to go to. But it's okay-Christmas only comes once a year! I am going to enjoy myself and have lots of yummy treats!
Here are some pics in front of our tree and a few from Matt's graduation:
I have the cutest dog ever! I love him.

CrossFit Progress
I've been doing Crossfit for about 2 months now. I still feel like I really suck during the workouts, like I am so out of shape! I just feel like I can't BREATHE the whole time, and I hate it! But I guess I'm getting better, and I haven't been scaling the workouts as much as I did in the beginning.
I'm getting a little better at running-I still HATE it, but at least it's not absolute torture anymore.
I haven't worked on my muscle up in a while, so that's something I need to work on again soon. I am determined to be able to do one!!!! I hate when I can't do something!
My favorite workouts, of course, are the strength workouts. Now those are the ones I feel like I am good at! (Besides the snatch and overhead squat)
Here are a few of the numbers I've hit so far, and I can't wait to improve on them and get stronger!
Front squat-145lbs x1rep
Back squat-205 lbs x1 rep
Overhead squat- 95 lbs x1 rep(I really need to work at these-they are hard!)
Hang power clean-120 x2 reps
Push press-120 x3 reps
Clean-120 x1 rep
Bench press-125 x1 rep
Deadlift-195 x2 reps
I am definitely weak at deadlifts, since I never did them before I started CrossFit. That's something I'm sure my strength will increase on for sure since we do a ton of them.
Anyway, I just wanted to update on my progress so far. I haven't had a computer for the past couple of weeks, so I'm not able to get on here much. We ordered a new computer, so hopefully we'll have it soon!
